Hello Goodbye

On the trail,

Why do we say hello

but never goodbye?

We ask how far, but never

How far have you come?

We say thank you, but never

why aren’t you faster?

We wear phrases as thin as the soles of our shoes,

Thank you, how was it, where are you from.

We likely won’t see them again,

So hello is the goodbye.
